Why is named bleach

I thought since I haven't seen them all there would be a answer for that later on in the anima I heard that too. It always seemed the most logical and only reason Vikitoria posted over a year ago.

It'sprabably pointless mentioning, but does any body else think that kisukeis spit of Kurt Cobain? That was my theorie 2 TheDemon posted over a year ago. I'm going to have to find that! This was before he drew the one-shot manga that appeared in Akamaru Jump. The weapon wasn't a sword, but a scythe. Only Rukia had a scythe and the other characters used guns.

At that point, the title was Snipe as in "Sniper". Right before he started drawing, he began to think that a sword would be better and realized he couldn't use Snipe as a title anymore.

He began looking for a title that grasped the bigger picture. Shinigami are associated with the color black, but it would have been boring to use "black. Laying the souls to rest and protecting them is cleansing them.

Fighting against lost and violent souls is also a cleansing process. These dangerous souls are a nuisance to the spirit world and humans, hence they must be conquered. They deny other souls of rest and safe passage to the soul society. Thus, the soul reapers are needed to stop their activities. The series is entirely about dousing the fires of evil. It is a continuous fight of good against evil which is like the bleaching of cloth or cleansing.

The story from then till the end was about stopping the bad from overcoming good. After Ichigo got the powers of Rukia, he took up the role of a soul reaper. Later, there was a need to rescue Rukia from her fellow soul reapers. I believe that choosing the name Bleach was not just to give the impression of white. It does have significance with what the story entailed. Bleach is to summarize the process of the good soul reapers winning over hollows.

Not just hollows, but corrupted and selfish soul reapers as well. There were several conspiracies and a thirst for power by some soul reapers. This became the usual narrative throughout the series. Tite Kubo had the intention to draw a Soul Reaper dressed in a kimono when he conceived the idea of bleach.

Not originally called bleach. Kubo wanted the soul reapers to have guns at first, but guns do not fit with kimonos.

Shinigami are associated with the color black, but it would have been boring to use "black". So Tite Kubo chose "Bleach" to evoke the impression of the color white. I've also heard other theories, which aren't as well supported by interviews with Kubo but still seem to have some evidence supporting them. One is that shinigami "cleanse" souls, similar to what bleach does Kubo himself mentioned this in an interview, but it's not clear whether he noticed this before or after deciding on the name.

Another is that Kubo is a fan of the band Nirvana, and their first album is Bleach. So there might be more than one reason, but the quoted one above is the one he usually gives when asked about it. According to the creator, Tite Kubo, when the Shinigami strike a Hollow with their Zanpaktou, they bleach i. Or maybe Ichigo is bleaching his hair to that color so it would be closer to a version he remembers his mother having? And the title is about him - who is the main character, after all?
